5th of July 2010: June passed in a flash, where did it go? Had some great musical adventures that I never will forget. Always an honour and privilege to play with great musicians that also are generous and share their knowledge. I have learned so much this last month, I will need time to digest it all and get the new knowledge under my skin.I really enjoyed meeting Jon Bjørnstad and the band. Andreas Dreier brought me into this great band. I was a little bit nerveous before the gig in Asker, because, lets face it: Standard jazz is not my forthe (yet:). But it went well beyond all (of mine) expectations. Looking forward to the next gig.
After that I went down to Alanya, Turkey. Holiday with umbrella drinks, sun, good food, relaxing.... and some gigs. I did 4 nights of Turkish music at a club called Boomerang. This is a place where the turks go to enjoy themself listening to turkish music. Odd time grooves, inexplainable scales, weird chord combinations, a language I cannot understand anything of..... and an unbelievable energy and vibe. Ozan (the front man) has a strong voice and a powerful stage presence that moved me deeply. It was a joy (and sometimes scary) to play with Ozan and his exellent band. Thanks to the RAKI I held my fort in 4 (or was it 5) long sets à 75 minutes. (Thats not quite common in Norway!!!!) I am already looking forward to next years escapades at Boomerang!
This upcoming weekend is Hammerfest on the agenda. Saturday giggin with Boys Voice and monday a duo gig with my old friend and compadre, Geggen. Nice:)
It`s summer, the sun is shining and life is good:)
2nd of June 2010: Been a busy bee lately. Lots of studio work, practicing, gigging, travelling and preparations done. If not in the written order:)Been in my hometown Hammerfest giggin with Boys Voice and Andreas Fliflet. It was great to meet, play and greet old friends again. Already looking forward to gig with Boys Voice in July at Redrum.
This weekend I am off to Lier, Asker and Oslo. One gig at Sir Lancelot with singer Jon Bjørnstad, Bassist Andreas Dreier, Trumpeter Roy Nicolaisen and more. Looking forward to that! Saturday 5th it's Musikkens Dag in Oslo. Tons of concerts and happenings.... Maybe I'll grab a beer then:)
13th of May 2010: I am now one year older than I was when I wrote the last article. Had a blast giggin' with Geir Bertheussen, Andreas Dreier and Geir Åge Johnsen. Always a pleasure to be at Rushy's Saloon and enjoying Anne and Arne Vidars hospitality. We celebrated my birthday so hard that I wondered if I'd survive it, haha..... Met and jammed with a lot of talented musicians as well. I must mention the guys in Bie Bluesband from Sweden. A really cool bluestrio from..... you guessed it: Bie in Sweden. Always a pleasure to jam with competent and dedicated musicians!I also had a guitarclinic at Rushy's. Had a small masterclass for 6 talented guitarists. I am not sure who learned the most, me or them:)
Next gigs up are in Hammerfest. First with Bass wizard Andreas Fliflet and guests, then the day after with my old friends, Boys Voice. More on this later.
And yes, I found a sushi bar in Ålesund.......... :)
13th of May 2010: May!!! My favourite month of the year. Just finished packing my rig for the Blues fra Nord (Blues from the north) project. I am SO looking forward to this tour. Will be great to hang and play with Geir Bertheussen, Geir Åge Johnsen and Andreas Dreier. It's all about the blues this time around. I love it!!!! I have brushed up my jump blues, rockabilly and classic blues phrases and vibes.... Oh, joy:) We'll do two gigs at Rushy's Saloon. One friday the 14th and one afternoon gig the 15th. I'll also do a guitar clinic/workshop there at 14:00. Lots of stuff to do!Sunday we'll be in Ålesund playing at Smutthullet. There Andreas, Geir Åge and me will be joined by Torje. Exiting. I have never met him before, so that will be an exiting gig to do. Looking forward to that. Hope to see friends in Ålesund. Is there a Sushi bar there?????
So when I return home I am 44 years old!!!!!!!! Time flies!

12th of May 2010: I've published a Soundcloud page to showcase my studio work and compositions. Here you will find many obscure tracks and no genre is left out. My Myspace site is now only dedicated to my band DECIBEL and will only contain tunes (written by myself) from our reportoire. It's now easier for promotors and arrangers to know what to expect on stage when they ar checking out my Myspace site. So in short:My Myspace site is dedicated to DECIBEL and the Soundcloud site showcases my studio and writing work, in any style:) Click on the picture to go to my Soundcloud page!
Enjoy:)

17th of March 2010: Been busy since the last update. A couple of really fun and challenging studio sessions and live gigs with DECIBEL and Fritzie has been on my schedule. It was a blast to play at Stopp Pressen. The audience was so appreciative and alert that it was an honour to perform for them. Lots of family and friends at the gig (preassure for sure!). Geir Åge and Kelly was kicking ass as usual. Bad, bad motherF***** those two!
Cool to play with my old pal Fritz Rune Størdal again. We played at Hammerfestfesten in Oslo. The place was packed and the crowd.... what can I say? I knew almost all of the 400+ who was there. They were all connected to Hammerfest in some way or another.
Leaving up north for gigs this weekend and then I have to hurry back to do some studio sessions. More on these later.
Have a nice day!

24th of February 2010: Last weekend was a blast. As always it was an honour and a pleasure to play with such great musicians as Geir Åge and Ole Kelly represents. Great gigs (and hangs) both at Bryggeriet and Rushy's Saloon. We will return to both venues this year. Big thank you's to the audiences at both places! This weekend it's Stopp Pressen in Oslo which is due. I really look forward to play at Jan Willy's place again. It's an afternoon/ early evening gig from 17:00 to 20:00. I hope they will like my own music as well as our renditions of the late, great Marius Muller tunes which we do.
Hope to see many friends there.
PS! A Steve Lukather quote: "What's the worst part of being an atheist? You have nobody to talk to when you're getting a blow job!"..... Haha....:)
17th of February 2010: Preparing for launch again. Off to Bryggeriet and Rushy's Saloon this weekend. Been practicing like a madman lately to get in shape to interpret some Marius Muller tunes in addition to re-learn my own songs:) Looking forward to go on the road with the fab rythm section containing the talents of Geir Åge Johnsen & Ole Kelly Kvamme. Love to groove with those two madmen (Ok, Ole Kelly is not as mad as Mr. G!)Other than that its recording of new stuff with the trio and doing som photoshoots etc. Lots of stuff to get in to.
In addition to the DECIBEL gigs I am going out with Jan Arild Sørnes at City Scene in Alta in March and Fritzie in Oslo. That will be grand.
3rd of February 2010: Happy new year and all that. Nice that you stop by my site (again?). Had a little "vacation" from touring and playing geetar in general because I hurt my shoulder in early december 09. It was really strange to be unable to play. Depressing, but now I am back on track and recording and gigs are at the table again:) Been kind of nice to be of the guitarwagon as well. I am very motivated to both play and practice these days. Can't wait to get back in the saddle.
Three DECIBEL gigs lined up this february. 19 at Sunndalsøra, 20 at Oppdal and 27 in Oslo. Looking forward to them!
Later!
